"To keep the body in good health is a duty...otherwise we shall not be able to keep our mind strong and clear" - Buddha
Meet the Health Office Staff
Shari has been a pediatric nurse since she graduated from Brigham Young University in 1991. She has worked in urgent care, inpatient psychiatric, and general pediatrics, but spent the majority of her time in the newborn intensive care unit (NICU) at a hospital in Northern Colorado and Stanford Children's Hospital in California.
In 2016, Shari moved to Austin with her husband and the youngest 2 of her 4 children. Her son graduated from Bowie in 2018 and her daughter is currently a junior.
Life is nearly perfect if she is hiking, camping, scuba diving or geyser watching in Yellowstone National Park with her family.
Sam has been with Ascension Student Health Services for 10 years. She has also worked as a home health aide and attended 2 years of nursing school.
Sam has lived most of her life in Austin. With her husband, Chris Soriano, they have 3 children. All of her children played baseball/softball and graduated from Crockett High School.
When she isn't in the health office she enjoys reading, spending time with family, traveling, and getting out to the ballpark to catch a game of baseball/softball.
